THE MUSICAL

WHAT IS
THE WAY?
THE WAY is a dramatic musical currently in development about Jesus from the viewpoint of His disciples and how they deal with their Messiah’s death and resurrection. The musical follows the disciples after Jesus’ death during the time when Jesus is in the tomb. To deal and cope with what just happened, the disciples “relive” their time with Jesus acting as narrators while they relive their experiences of Jesus’ ministry on the stage. The main theme for this musical comes from John 14:6 where Jesus answers Thomas by saying that He is the way, the truth, and the life. The disciples are consumed with a sense of being completely lost and off the path. But they realize after witnessing Jesus’ resurrection that He is truly the way, the truth, and the life and that they are found and saved through Jesus, no longer lost.
The ultimate mission of the musical, THE WAY, is to clearly present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this generation and to proclaim that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. It will give Christians an opportunity to bring their non-Christian friends to experience a Jesus centered presentation that will introduce them to the true Savior, Jesus Christ.

WRITERS TESTIMONY
Hello! My name is Aden Ramsey. I'm so very happy to share my testimony with you! I’m a native East Texan who was raised in a Christian home by loving parents who taught me the Bible and we attended church every Sunday and Wednesday nights. My father, Gene Ramsey, is a Christian vocalist who has served in the ministry for over 40 years and is currently on staff at Flint Baptist Church in Flint, TX serving as the Senior Adult Pastor. My mother, Paige Ramsey, is a published author who followed God’s lead and homeschooled my sister and I throughout our schooling until we both went to college. I came to know the Lord Jesus as my Savior when I was five years old. Pretty young, I know, but I understood, even at that age, that I needed a Savior because of my sins and that Jesus loved me so much that He died for my sins on the cross.
Currently, my wife, daughter, and I live in Queens, NY and are members of a Korean church, Suneui Church of New York, where we both serve as deacons and I lead the English Bible study every Sunday. I attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts' Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program in 2011, where I met my wife, Sujin Kim-Ramsey, who attended the same program. We are both music composers who are passionate about writing musicals.
Up until four years ago, we, admittedly, were pursuing the wrong path for our music careers and our Christian walk. When we realized that we were so busy working on secular musical projects and not using our talents to the fullest to give praise and honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we began praying for God to show us His will for our music and careers. God began to answer. He inspired me to write this musical about the Gospels and tell the story of Jesus through the eyes of the Disciples in their darkest time - the three days following Jesus' death and their elated joy at His Resurrection, entitled THE WAY.
Of course the pandemic hit and things were a little tough for the last few years but God brought us through it all. I am a very conservative, down-to-earth Christian who loves the Lord and wants to use my talent for His Kingdom.
